What We Believe

We take God at His Word

Rooted is a Bible-believing, Christ-centered movement. These are the beliefs every Rooted leader affirms. Everyone is welcome to come and explore them with us.

How we read the Bible

In context, by its plain meaning as the original author intended, letting Scripture interpret Scripture. We submit to the text rather than reshape it, and we teach what it says, no more and no less. We never bend it to fit the culture.

  1. Scripture

The Bible, Old and New Testaments, is the inspired, inerrant Word of God and our final authority for faith and life (2 Timothy 3:16–17).

  2. God

There is one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

  3. Jesus Christ

Fully God and fully man, born of a virgin, He lived without sin, died on the cross as the substitute for sinners, rose bodily from the dead, ascended to the Father, and will return in person.

  4. People and sin

Every person is created in God’s image, and all have sinned and need a Savior.

  5. Salvation

By grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone, not by our works.

  6. The Holy Spirit

He lives in every believer, bringing new life, holiness and power to witness.

  7. The Church

All believers form the body of Christ, called to gather, observe baptism and the Lord’s Supper, and make disciples of all nations.

  8. Last things

Christ will return, the dead will be raised, and God will judge the world; believers will live with Him forever.
